Outdoor learning space

Dear The board of trusteesIMG_20170518_122406.jpg

Outdoor learning areas are places where you can learn safely in the nice sun and feel the breeze blow through your hair while you write. That's what I would want to be doing right now but I’m not because the learning space outside room 11 is HORRIFIC! It’s terrible because of all the moss on the bricks, rocks sticking up out of the ground, the seats are too small, we are not kindergarteners we are middle schoolers and I am here to tell you that the courtyard could do with some touching up.

You imagine coming to HNI and you see that courtyard, it’s just shocking. If someone came to HNI and of course they liked it when they get to the courtyard they will just be staring at it, shaking they and asking “what is this place used for?” And when you say it’s a outdoor learning space they will be gone before you can said “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and that is the truth. It’s boring and bland; who would ever want to work out there it’s just colourless, lifeless, dull it’s just like plain vanilla.

“I’m just reading my book, yay nothing can go wrong. AHHH!” And there goes that innocent kid that is now missing their two front teeth, thank you very much. The place is dangerous, rocks are poking up out of the ground and that drain is making a very big hole in the middle of the teaching space that can be awfully harmful if you don’t look where you're going, it’s extremely hazardous. “Look person#1, what a complete waste of space”
“Yeah person#2 let's go to a different  learning space”
“OK” That is probably what goes on inside someone's head when they look at what a waste of space the courtyard outside room 11 because believe me it’s the biggest misspent space I have ever seen. It’s big enough for a whole other classroom but still it is unused.

So the new technology block look nice, so does the eating area with the new BBQ tables, so I ask you; why couldn’t we have a nice new outdoor learning space?
